There is a long standing defense agreement in place between US - Greenland - Denmark. You can just use that and expand your presence if needed.

On a positive note - here is my homemade danish sourdough rye bread, which I bake once a week. Well pleased with this.

I would be a great shame if the people of Greenland throw snowballs at the US delegation Thursday. Lets hope that doesnt happen.
