It goes back even farther than that. The Powell Memo in 1971 gave BigBiz permission to be ruthless. It was insanely anti-worker, anti-environmental, anti-anything that benefits regular people, and very pro-business.

And, sadly, there are trump fans all over the world. I was happy that I didn't have to deal with magas in the UK but found out 2 white women I know (I'm American) are delighted because "we can't have open borders."

Was feeling a bit better finally and then ran in to a small business owner in my English town who is American like me. She is empathetic, outwardly kind, smart, white in her 40's with relatives in red states. Thrilled about the election BC the border.
