🧵 Labour’s Cuts Hurt Disabled People

The SNP Disabled Members Group is very unhappy about the British Labour government’s plan to cut £6 billion from welfare benefits.

These cuts will hurt disabled people the most. Many disabled people already struggle to afford food, heating, and basic needs

Internatrional collaboration in reseach is vital to connect researchers and clinicians, ensuring progress in diagnosis, treatment, and care.

There are 600+ identified rare diseases and due to the wide diversity of rare diseases, and the presence of relatively common symptoms that can mask underlying ones, misdiagnosis is common.

Symptoms not only vary between different diseases but can also differ between people with the same ones

Rare Diseases currently affect about 5% of the worldwide population.

The need for high-quality, specialised healhcare creates inequalities and barriers to accessing rare disease treatment and care, therefore it is important that we do what we can to raise awareness and help remove these barriers
