Why do most neurologists have so little understanding or desire to understand the neurology and relationship between fatigue sensation and central fatigue (and why it exists)?
An example of current knowledge:

Yeah, so the cyclists will get overtaken by walkers 🤯

I like how they call it a Randomised clinical trial and not a Randomised Controlled trial as many rehabilitation studies pretend to be, but are not. I thought the tDCS-sham placebo was novel.

This is a blanket ban on bikes and scooters, most people are incapable of riding at that speed without falling over. And yes, joggers/runners and some walkers all exceed that speed.

Yes, it is called en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respira... This is why there are two ventilatory thresholds.
November 12, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Pehaps two effects, 1st is people who are just not used to exercising *at all*, 2nd is early onset of hyperventilation can be due to excessive muscle afferent feedback (who may already be suffering PEM). Note that *ALL* participants will functionally hyperventilate towards the end of a maximal CPET.

Other 2 day CPET studies haven't really noticed such patterns (VE/CO2 ratio) in most patients there have been a lot of them so there may have been something specific about this study eg. the sample group or the mouth piece as mentioned.

It bothers me that the authors demonstrated so little understanding of exercise physiology in the manuscript, and peripheral factors that can lead to altered ventilation.

Most establishment media is like this including The Guardian and similar, although it is not as frequently recognised as such.

Or perhaps many audiences *want* to be lied to and don't care about things like the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gell-Ma...

It means the wealthy oligarchs who influence most governments don't like it.

It's delusional if he thinks the market employment model is willing to support disabled people in any way. They discriminate and then lie, to skirt any anti-discrimination laws because it's all performative, they don't care about disabled people, only saving money regardless of harm.

I'm not sure it's that involved, they're part of a collaboration and one/few of their younger colleagues who might have slightly different views did some actual work writing the review and the rest mostly just slapped their name on it.
November 4, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Mhmm. I've heard that before, by professors who were called out when there were major errors (like image duplication) in manuscripts they slapped their name on.
November 4, 2025 at 12:08 PM
They probably haven't even read the manuscript.

It's total crap. In Adelaide, the Little Para River underpasses flood like that. Underpasses are supposed to have drainage systems like bilge pump but of course they break (and never repaired) or are never implemented in the first place. Of course the drainage of trench motorways works perfectly...
