This has received a lot of coverage. Why? What he is doing at HHS is the real story and so much more impactful for all of us. I think distraction is a strategy for this administration and it seems pretty effective.

Oligarchs can pretty much protect themselves from negative effects of any of this. They can buy their healthcare, send kids to private schools etc. They only thing they want is to not pay taxes so that is the Republican/Trump agenda

For decades the word 'entitlement' was benign government speak for exactly what this woman stated - someone was entitled to receive Social Security because they earned the benefit. Since it is now so negatively interpreted, I agree, 'earned benefit' is better.

I have the opposite reaction. She said it out loud and no one else in her party is doing that. Let's see what she does with it before deciding she should resign and is spineless. I would be doubtful Alaska would elect anyone more forthcoming.

Couldn't they just stop attending briefings and the outlets announce they've stopped because they are not getting credible info from the WH? Also couldn't elected officials on the other side of the mall hold briefings and respond accurately? Seems like counteracting this isn't easy but doable.

Trump probably told him he could say and do whatever he wants as long as he promised to do so much damage to federal health agencies they can barely function.

I worked in state government and most of our funding was federal pass through funds (meaning they funded us to put out local contracts). I don't know if this is generally true, but our federal contract specifically prohibited using their funds to advertise - even to people needing the program. Dumb
