Panicking before D&D session because I forgot to make a combat, stole the first video game boss I could think of.

Anyhow players went nuts for "Manta Ray from Mario Sunshine but a slime, with only basic attacks". apparently a punching bag that keeps splitting in half is weirdly satisfying to hit

I'm suddenly reminded of how I gave my players an actual "goblin attack in a can" in my D&D campaign for a heist (distraction), and they ended up not using it.

Now every new encounter I write needs to be done with the knowledge it might get fucking goblin attacked.
