The media has always reported on events, including crime, so you can’t suggest it’s simply the media. It’s more psychological and political than this.

The people focusing on “liberal social issues” were MAGA trying to keep it all tribal. Every Dem I know was focused on things like democracy, national security, and keeping a criminal out of the White House.
