Ultimately it's broad casting decisions at play that my gripes are with, like "we control all the anime dubbing so if you want a role you need to live in a state where you can't use public restrooms" or "striking against AI? well now you're fired due to 'creative differences'"

For sure, I'm using shorthand here bc from an actor's perspective there's not much difference between an individual CD and the org telling them what to do, but I recognize that's oversimplifying a bit. CDs are often just workers like the rest of us who need their own organization.

CDs get to do whatever they want and face no repercussions whatsoever. There's just no power there so ppl will say or do anything to keep their heads above water, at least publicly. And nobody outside VO knows anything.
