Battle residents represent! You got this , Zack 💪

Brill, thanks for the info, will reduce the scope to letters. And keep up the good work!

I totally get you, time is the issue. I suppose it would have to work on an 'anyone can upload' basis so it's not dependent on a single person to go through everything, but then it's vulnerable to bad actors. Hmmm. Food for thought.

As we could have the community go to one place, quickly download a template message, personalise it and send it off, or do the same with FOIs, rather than everyone having to write their own from scratch.

Along with some reasoning for why sending it is important.

So many talented letter writers and FOIers, but it's left to algorithms as to whether we as a community learn who is asking questions of whom.

I think we'd get way more pressure that way 2/3 😅

Yep, makes perfect sense!

I really think we as a community (trans+ and allies) should have a sort of centralised place, maybe a blog or something, where we can list not only all the FOIs and letters we have Individually sent, but provide a blueprint for each one sent. 1/2

My parent just pointed out that the responses were anonymous though, so how would they be able to identify our personal responses? Otherwise I like the plan a lot

I would have just smacked him, honestly.

I didn't say they should? But sure, stick to your crab in a bucket talking points and prop up the genocidal people ideologically enacting more of the same.

I'm sure doing nothing and blaming people for trying is going to work out just swimmingly for us all

They aren't the enemy, years of austerity governments are. If Labour can't make paying public sector workers a fair wage within the system, then they need to change the system or they'll get replaced next election by someone who will.

I very much doubt resident doctors look at their situation in isolation. But they can only organise for themselves. Stand in solidarity with them, and they'll do the same for you.
July 27, 2025 at 7:55 AM
Want more tax from normal people? Borrow money to invest in people, education, upskilling, rather than overseeing the decline of everyone except corporations. Austerity continues to fuck the country, and complaining at everyone who tries to do something about it just maintains the status quo.
July 27, 2025 at 7:55 AM
Tax the rich and corporations, as Labour refuse to do. Stop selling public assets and renationalise all the stuff that was sold off that now costs the government far more to rent out/bail out, and instead run it for a small profit that goes back into investing in our infrastructure and people.

So stand up for yourself. Go on strike too, otherwise it's a race to the bottom where all we do is get bitter at anyone trying to have vaguely acceptable working conditions.
July 27, 2025 at 7:54 AM
And there's so many more who couldn't make it but wanted to be there! Most of my mates were booked out well in advance, but sent messages of support and have been signing open letters and petitions to help out 💪

Their real-terms pay was cut 31.7% from 2008 to 2023. Even with last year's agreed pay rises they're still suffering a 23% cut. They'd need another two and a half of the 'big pay rises' of 2023/24 to just get back to what they're actually *supposed* to be paid.
July 27, 2025 at 7:09 AM
There's a real protection racket feel to the whole thing. Cosy up to them and sure, they'll 'protect' you, and all it costs is *some* of your rights and dignity and autonomy.

But don't pay the protection toll? Well, it'd be a real shame if something happened to your pretty little gender there.

That was a big take away for me too! Every walk of life represented

I can confirm that multiple sources, in unison, loudly, revealed that Wes Streeting, Keir Starmer and Bridget Phillipson have a thick red liquid on their hands, and that they can go fuck themselves, at London Trans+ Pride today
