But yeah with these doscord settings I have had 0 complaints in 2.5 years since I reworked the venting channel into this. Hope it works out!

My suggested settings for users in a discord. Again, using the forum function available by marking your server as a community (literally a checkbox in settings)

Additionally in discord you can make it so people cannot reply to forum posts (to avoid toxic echo chambers/ drama) and you can also force users to apply tags to their posts such as ‘work, family, trigger warning etc.’

In our community we have a fairly robust set of rules that ban suicidal comments or the like and refer the suicide hotline. Additionally we use the discord forum setting to make it so people can read a title before reading stiff they aren’t prepared for as well.
