I've seen people on red note welcoming tik tok "refugees" and dispelling myths about China and the U.S. I've seen people on bluesky be belittling and judgemental and fundamentally misunderstanding the impact tik tok had on helping progressive causes

With tik tok Americans were able to see for themselves the horrors of genocide, the callousness of corporations and our representatives, and the hypocrisy of so many in power. This is the reason it was banned so quickly and it's ban chips away at our democracy
