Today is the International Day of LGBTQ+ People in STEM. This day is used to bring awareness to the barriers that the LGBTQIA+ community still faces today but is also used as an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the important work that is contributed by removing these barriers in STEM.

❄️ Having a chill start to the week at SNOLAB!

SNOLAB uses a special technique to measure trace amounts of radon in infrastructure and experiments in the underground laboratory. This method, a radon assay, requires cryogenic temperatures to make it work.

#DYK: SENSEI is a dark matter experiment at SNOLAB that uses skipper Charged Coupled Devices (CCDs). This technology is commonly used in everyday digital cameras like those that you would find in your phone!
