The real question is howcome Russia was allowed to access Starlink in the first place?

So, Keir finally grew some balls.

It would be very valuable if former president George W. Bush, who activated NATO article 5 back in 2001, could officially correct the incumbent president Trump about the actual circumstances.
January 23, 2026 at 2:26 PM
He has absolutely no idea what to do. No clues about what makes economy work and prosper. If he would have been able to comprehend he wouldn't have stated a lot of things he did and certainly not supporting Trump's deranged ideas. It leads to US bonds sell out and steeply increasing interest rates.
January 22, 2026 at 7:59 PM
Well, then still opposite to Trump who thinks the US paid for everything.
January 22, 2026 at 2:42 PM
I wonder what George W. Bush thinks about that statement since he called upon NATO support activating article 5 in 2001?
January 22, 2026 at 2:14 PM
Time to stop complaining and roll up the sleves. 600M Europeans don't have to be bullied by 340M Americans or 140M Russians. Just put coordinated focus to become stronger quickly. Joint European Defence Forces. Airforce is formiddable, Navy is 2nd in the world with several carrier strike groups, etc
January 22, 2026 at 12:55 PM
I don't think it's him. It's just Trump trying to save some face. To sell a fictious victory to the MAGA crowd.
January 22, 2026 at 12:48 PM
Danish PM Mette Fredriksen announced that there has been no new agreement or arrangement made between the US and the Danish Kingdom (DK)which contains Denmark, Faroe Islands and Greenland. It's a similar setup as the UK, E.g. like Trump would press London to sell off Wales..

The SMO boys signed up to get paid for killing Ukrainians and steal land. They seem to have no problems with that so then they have to accept that they end up in body bags quickly. That's the other side of the coin. Don't sign up if you don't want to be treated like you intended to treat others.
January 22, 2026 at 8:33 AM
He shouldn't opted for joining the SMO then. He had no problem signing up for killing Ukrainians to steal their land. Did he think that would be painless?
January 21, 2026 at 4:16 PM
He notices IRL, that it's causing turmoil on the stock market, higher interest rates and a downwards fluctuating USD. A sell out of US bonds crashes the USD and the US economy. I assume he didn't reflect on it earlier, but he's aware now. It will sink US economy and world economy will shake as well
January 21, 2026 at 4:11 PM
Selling out someone else's land is always easy.

The newly appointed US ambassador joking about Iceland becoming the 52nd state (after Greenland) the other week, may have helped a lot for the "yes to the EU" movement in Iceland. It was extremely unpopular. The US offered IS statehood already back in 1944 when IS declared independence from Denmark.
January 21, 2026 at 2:54 PM
The US actually sent troops there taking control. In addition Germany established some weather stations which the US was searching for. E.g. in March -43 the US attacked a German weather station on the island. The provisional agreement during the WW2 was replaced 1951 by a new base treaty. Wikipedia

Scott will huff and puff as long as it's just words. Neither he, Vance or Rubio will blindly follow Trump if madness turns into marching orders attacking a long standing loyal NATO ally. Congress, Pentagon and the US public won't comply. Then suddenly we will see how they activate the 25th amendment
January 21, 2026 at 1:22 PM
And included in that deal was the US formal recognizion of Greenland as an integrated part of the Danish Kingdom. So if the US takes Greenland by force, the VI deal is then technically broken.
January 21, 2026 at 10:25 AM
Convenient, something is needed to divert from the Greenland disaster approach Trump launched.
January 21, 2026 at 9:59 AM
France expressed interest in deeper cooperation around the space domain. Closer ties with the only EU nuclear arms power is now essential I assume. Not to move to far ahead, but with a shaky US relation, EU needs to arm itself, boosting all relevant areas.
January 21, 2026 at 8:26 AM
Vance awaits the right opportunity. Neither he, Rubio or Bessent will follow Trump into the darkness. If polls are 2-4% in favor of a military takeover of Greenland and assaulting NATO allies, insurrection will be likely in the Adm. Congress and Pentagon. Nobody wants to be at the wrong side of that
January 21, 2026 at 7:48 AM
So, we are seeing something meant to be seen for a reason? Middle East direction sending a message of an Iran focus/escalation?
January 21, 2026 at 7:36 AM
Convenient timing. Just saying..
January 21, 2026 at 5:57 AM
Scott just talks big. Nothing hsppens.
January 20, 2026 at 7:39 PM
The quite clear messages by Macron and Carney today may have discouragued Trump to show up. He may sense that the no will remain a big no.
