Okay, literally nobody cares but I'm going to do some philosophizing about this. (Images identical, but together contain the full alt text)

flingza tends to help a lot more with chipping to improve tent consistency and providing paint for mobility.

I see dapp as often occupying a high kill initiator position for all the reasons in this thread, and not so much an enabler

Fluidity is of course still important

What we mean when we talk about this is just that initiators try to start fights and enablers try to support initiators in taking and finishing them safely. For our common pairs, brush+sword/bucket is low kill init and high kill enabler, where tent+flingza is high kill init low kill enabler since

Upcurrent often uses "initiator" and "enabler" when talking about weapons in this regard. Though, these are terminologies that apply best when pairing weapons in fights

Intiators often "skirmish" and enablers often "slay" but there are also high kill power initiators and low kill power enablers

Oh fuck right billion dollar company. Yeah if I weren't completely fucked up from my medication being increased today I might have put that together. Very silly of me

Thank you for putting up with my questions!

is more of an issue than before, when the two existed independently. If whosampled always served as this sampling information database, it's a liability for artists regardless of who owns it, no?
November 25, 2025 at 5:28 AM
Okay this clears up a bit. I personally don't think it's easy to say that artists should not have engaged in "copyright infringement" but I do also recognize the value of sampling as necessary for music as an art form

I guess I still don't get why spotify specifically acquiring whosampled
November 25, 2025 at 5:28 AM
Okay, I know a lot of what's being said here, but I'm missing the tie between what WhoSampled is and why Spotify acquiring it is a bad thing
