Bucks Birder, long suffering Huddersfield Town fan and lover of miserable music .
This adult Caspian Gull was a late arrival in the evening gloom at Little Marlow Gravel Pit this evening. Gull numbers have been decent the last few weeks, but Casps have been few and far between

Managed to catch up with the Bucks Montagu’s Harrier this morning, thanks to a very early start. Watched her for about 30 minutes before she disappeared across the road. More than made up for missing out by 15 minutes on Thursday evening

Lovely views of the Red-necked Grebe at Denham yesterday. Great to have one so close by , just a shame it’s not quite in Bucks !

35 years after dipping the Golden-winged Warbler just up the road(long story) ,I finally caught up with an american warbler in Kent. This time the lemony Yellow Warbler at New Hythe. It even had the courtesy to announce its arrival with a series of sharp calls.

Really pleased to catch up with the family party of 5 White-fronted Geese on Dorney Common this morning. Not a common bird in Bucks at all. Absolutely freezing mind you, although probably still warmer than where they have come from.

Hawfinch at Great Hampden Church this morning. Elusive but worth the wait. Then a trip up the M40 to see the 2 Velvet Scoters at Grimsbury Reservoir. Seemed to be relatively unbothered by the various boats on the water and all the Canada Geese

Another visit to the south coast , this time an early morning trip to Seaford to see the Pied Wheatear. Decent views through the bins, but tricky to get photographs, not least due to its proximity to the cliff edge !

Spent the weekend checking what felt like every Red Kite in the Home Counties in a futile attempt to connect with the Booted Eagle. But then the Lapland Bunting at Staines Res this morning brightened up the week. Smashing little bird, showing amazingly well .

Decided to chance the weather on Sunday morning and try to see the Gillingham Isabelline Shrike. Showed really well in the in end, but the conditions were awful, hence the dodgy photos !

A very wet visit to Houghton Regis this morning to see the Red-backed Shrike. It looked as fed up with the weather as I was . #ukbirding

A quick diversion on the way home from work today to see the Pink-footed Goose found earlier at Fulmer Lake in South Bucks. Very wary and not associating with the local Canada flock. #ukbirding #bucksbirdalert

A decent couple of days for birders in Bucks, and I managed to dash out a couple of times despite work! Garganey on Dorney Flood last night. Then Little, 3 x Sandwich and what looks like a 2cy Arctic Tern at #LGMP this lunchtime. #ukbirding
