what moves the dead - t kingfisher🌕🌕🌖🌑🌑 amazing imagery/atmosphere with a genuinely horrifying and shocking mystery. gripping and suspenseful. however, the exposition and dialogue left much to be desired. overall a very middling read for me. 💙📚

the parable of the sower - octavia e butler 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 wasn't as impacted by the religious elements as it seemed other people were, but reading this in february of 2024 (when the book takes place), was a painful and sorrowful experience. should be required reading for schools imo. 💙📚

the last wish - andrzej sapkowski 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 the action in these short stories is addicting, and the focus on what determines who/what is a monster, evil, and humanity is an integral part of the witcher universe. main hang-up is women are written a little groddy so hoping for better in the next books. 📚💙

the fires of vengeance - evan winter 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌖 a nearly perfect sequel to an essentially perfect book (the rage of dragons). winter ups the stakes in a believable and tense way, and his visions of war, class, and vengeance (obviously) continue to leave permanent impressions on me. winter you genius. 🐉📚💙

my first #booksky review 📚💙 'the seven husbands on Evelyn hugo' - Taylor Jenkins Reid 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 TJR's writing is addicting and brings old Hollywood to life. I felt like I was watching an episode of real housewives which is good and bad. haaaated the "modern day" plot tho, but generally a good read
