Yeah this seems like the only play, otherwise the monster is just "Breaking the rules" in ways the players would struggle to anticipate ahead of time with knowledge from their experience from smaller earlier encounters.

If I have to pay for a demo, its not much of a demo, its a product I'm purchasing. Even worse if I don't end up liking the demo, I'd feel like I wasted my money AND I wont buy the full game either.

A core tenet of Monster Hunter's design has always been portraying the world as a living place that the hunters exist within, and the societies that grow around it. That's not "nonsensical", that's the basis of the entire series.

Yeah honestly I do the same thing. I get really far into a lot of RPGs and such but fall off before it actually closes, but I can grind out Monster Hunter, Warframe, or other games endlesly without any issue.

GU is great, just don't expect a strong narrative experience. It was more of an old generation celebration title that brought as many monsters as possible and focused entirely on the gameplay side, it doesn't have much in the way of story or guidance.

For real, when you start downloading brushes you don't even understand how to use or even have a purpose for with the type of works you make it's silly.

Good, we need more people unafraid of being genuine in onlinespaces. You'll get a lot of flak for some of it by some people, I'm sure, but it will also be appreciated by others. Talking about things we care about is important, regardless of how others might conduct themselves around it.

Yeah it's a shame, most sites always died chasing an unreachable profit goal leaving behind the people who actually valued what the site provided. Now we're practically in a online wasteland outside of a few small specific bubbles that don't measure up in the same ways.

I love the few stragglers that make their way over trying to start stuff only to get laughed out of the room. Such a different atmosphere.

You know it will be, unfortunately. Lot of grifters and general bad actors really selling that stereotype to people in the current climate. It's a shame. Hope that it passes sooner rather than later.

If you get far enough and comfortable enough where you need to know more, then you can worry about it at that time. Until then it's a needless blocker that distracts from what the game is good at.

The games combat is really weird at the start until you get adjusted to how it flows, and even once you do it still can be strange at times. I recommend not really worrying about doing it "right" and just enjoying the story.
