I wish I knew what this means... but I know it to be true regardless...

Not even a bsky complaint though I know twitter works the same and I would also be having a bad time as an artist on there cause this post format is annoying

when I drew these I hadn’t played RDR2 yet, so I don’t know a lot about Micah but I’m pretty sure he loses an eye at some point? I really wanted one of these portraits to have someone looking through a revolver’s chamber, so that detail came together nicely, even if no one’s probably noticing it

Bill stuck with me in RDR1 because out of the old gang members you track down, he’s important in multiple acts of the game. His death scene was really memorable because of the stagecoach chase but also because the player is forced to make a decision to shoot him - and if they don’t, Reyes kills him

When I drew this, I was still thinking about RDR1’s ending and hadn’t fully gotten into RDR2 yet. I wanted to focus on Jack as an adult, so the birds represent him finding Agent Ross while duck hunting. It also ties back to the Beecher’s Hope mission near the end with John chasing off the crows

I think I managed to capture how Abigail looks in both games. The compass references the song when John returns to Beecher’s Hope, and the flowers are from that area in both RDR1 and RDR2. I also swapped the bouquet for a lamb at the last minute cause it was getting kind of crowded with flowers lol

Painted over a collage I made to plan the composition, and to represent both RDR1 and RDR2 I used the map of both games. Kind of hard to get the portrait to look right since he looks so different between the games, but I loved painting the sky on this one ! And the colours
