Orthodox Jew in the streets, humanist in the sheets. Dehumanizing Israelis or Palestinians gets you blocked. Lifelong New Yorker, normie liberal, abundance shit-lib. Cars ruin cities.
I’m excellent at exposing antisemites and I do it pro bono.

Thanks for implying I need to get paid to defend people against dehumanization. Is that because I’m Jewish or just in general? Do you get paid to prove my point that while protesting settlements is legitimate, protestors consider ALL of Israel stolen and all Israelis settlers.

Fighting antisemitism? No. I have a pretty big stake in it, though I also fight against all bigotry, even of groups I’m not a part of.
November 25, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Ah there YOU are. You don’t think any part of Israel is legitimate so this “it’s about settlements” was bad faith.
November 25, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Oh look, an antisemite who likes to invent their own history
November 25, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Jews who had been living in Europe returned to their native homeland to escape pogroms and genocide. Palestinians were displaced as the result of a civil war over the land. Palestine has a right to exist. Over half of Israeli Jews were expelled from Arab countries they’d lived in for centuries.
November 25, 2025 at 11:37 PM
Oh so there’s just no legitimate Israel in your mind.
November 25, 2025 at 11:13 PM
I think if the problem people have with NBN is that it includes WB settlements, and they would have no issue with NBN helping people moving to areas within Israel proper, then it would be good and productive to be focused on that in the protest
November 25, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Nope! It’s a problem!
November 25, 2025 at 8:23 PM
I get that and I don’t expect people to love Israel. It still doesn’t excuse antisemitism and is counterproductive. If you don’t want Jews moving to Israel, you should make them feel loved and welcome here and not imply you want half their people dead 80 years after 1/3 of them were exterminated.
November 25, 2025 at 8:09 PM
They don’t discern between Israel proper and established settlements. It’s a problem and I’d say makes them a legitimate target for protest but it’s a gross mischaracterization of what they do to claim their purpose is settlements. That is true of other orgs, but not NBN.

Any Israeli and/or Zionist
November 25, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Who do you think the “Resistance” is in this chant and what do they mean by “take them out?”
November 25, 2025 at 7:56 PM
When did *I* not distinguish between them? This chant is directed at ALL Israelis, it’s a pro-Hamas chant celebrating Oct 7. These are protestors who consider ALL Israelis to be settlers. They make that explicit when they say “we want all of 48.” This is not a nuanced position about settlements.
November 25, 2025 at 7:55 PM
He suggested Israelis are evils and I asked if he felt the same about Americans.
November 25, 2025 at 7:53 PM
No, USING ANTISEMITIC CHANTS is counterproductive to the goal of the protest movement if the goal of the protest movement is Palestinian statehood and safety. THIS protest’s goal was to intimidate Jews, celebrate Hamas, and de-legitimize Israel as a whole. I don’t align with these goals.
November 25, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Criticism of Israel is not antisemitic. We agree on that, right? Some people call ANY criticism of Israel antisemitic. We agree that it’s wrong to do so. Same logic says that criticizing a specific protest or specific protest behaviors is not anti-protest or anti-Palestinian.
November 25, 2025 at 7:00 PM
It wasn’t fringe, that was the tone of the entire protest. I never said the entire protest MOVEMENT is antisemitic. You extrapolated that. THIS protest was antisemitic. You can say that without it meaning that ANY protest is antisemitic.
November 25, 2025 at 6:56 PM
How? What has it produced? When Jews see that supposed liberals can’t even call out antisemitic and violent chants, it confirms the premise of Zionism. If that’s your goal, great job.
November 25, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Making excuses for violent and antisemitic chants isn’t productive either. In facts it’s the epitome of counterproductive for an event about moving to Israel. “Zionists not welcome here.” Yeah, they know, that’s why they’re at the event.
November 25, 2025 at 6:36 PM
For me the fact that it was a synagogue is irrelevant, I would consider those chants vile and antisemitic if the event were held anywhere.
November 25, 2025 at 6:13 PM
That doesn’t refute anything I said which is that even if NBN is a legitimate target for protest (which I agree it is) the protestors still chanted and behaved in ways that were antisemitic and suggested that living anywhere in Israel is illegitimate.
November 25, 2025 at 6:12 PM
In other words: good people shouldn’t let false claims of antisemitism blind them to or prevent them from calling out actual antisemitism.
November 25, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Yes, it absolutely is a serious problem, one I’ve been railing against. But I would hope that the kind of thoughtful, nuanced people like those I follow here would also be able to discern and call out actual antisemitism and listen to the credible voices who aren’t among those groups.
