Yup. And even the established companies are now hitting a value limitation which means that user hostile business requirements become the name of the game. This all adds up and contributes to a certain…mental model, which has corrupted most previously idealistic companies.

Unless there is an actual announcement from CBS/Paramount there’s no use in speculating. I think Kurtzman gets a bad rap but I’ll also admit, he hasn’t exactly guided the franchise well. I don’t think anything will be de-canonized except where fan sites are concerned.
