I hate my neighbours.
They think that removing all the trees to the west of their property will make it cooler for them.
They'll bake in summer.
More importantly, it's currently nesting season and there was a huge population amongst the trees.
So pointless
All those trees are gone.

This wall faces west and really sucks up the heat. I keep my tropical plants there in winter.

So last year the baby scrub turkeys ate with the pigeons and stayed safe from the raptors in the area.

I planted this tree a couple of years ago as a replacement native tree due to the number being cut down around here. It's from a seedling from the big silky oak. We have a nest in it now.
And some very protective parents.
