You're over simplifying biological sex and ignoring the existence of a sex that is not male or female, but okay. You're correct that gender and sex are not the same, but you're wrong that there is "only two sexes", as the existence of other options shows it is not dichotomous.

Intersex people exist and are neither XX or XY, so there's definitely more than "only two biological sexes".
