The new RAP payment plan that was in the budget bill and should be available by July will waive interest monthly, no growing balance. It's not as good as SAVE and we will all be in a worse state of course but it does keep the interest stuff.

Hmm the JJ Abrams Star Trek films? Generally well put together cinematically but nothing new or all that interesting happens.

Part of what makes us better than them is that we do have a commitment to the truth and some minimum standards of good faith. We shouldn't let them take advantage of that, but also they don't currently have the upper hand /because/ they've abandoned those qualities.

He would probably hate a lot of Voyager and Enterprise. He would absolutely hate Generations and Nemesis, maybe even First Contact.

I think Trek can do things beyond him. I'm okay with a buffet where not everything is for me or him. It's okay. I feel similarly about Star Wars & George Lucas

I don't think he would mind the action, comedy, or even some of the darker Mirror Universe stuff all that much. I think he would mind specific plots especially stuff like an autistic child blowing up the federation. I think he'd rather like the discovery pilot w/ some objections about Sarek.

I will acknowledge he shot down an academy series, I still think with current knowledge he wouldn't hate the idea of an academy series from that quality alone given the movie proposals.

This one took me a minute to find but it looks like it would have been cadets on a ship, and there are a few other issues with this proposal I can see Roddenberry having a bigger problem with (jihad?). Also not impossible it was just a power play to make sure he didn't lose his creative baby ATT.

The Bennett one? That was a film, he campaigned against that one because he thought the script was too gritty. Roddenberry himself proposed a handful of academy movies in the 60/70s but they never went anywhere.
