Today, more than 14 years later, I said goodbye to my sweet companion. I am completely heartbroken. It was sudden, and I couldn't save her.
A tabby and piebald cat is curled up on her side sleeping. Even all her paws are curled. She looks very content.

In September 2010, I went to a horrible little county run shelter in Augusta, GA and asked who was next on the euthanasia list. I met this sweet creature, who curled up happily in my arms (something she never did again, not a snuggler in that way). She was ~five months old.

When we had our heat dome a few years ago I shared my frozen eye mask with my overheated kitty.

These stats were released after announcing they cut off utilities for 8,715 households in Oregon in April alone.
In just over two years, residential customers of Northwest Natural have seen rates climb 42.7%. At Pacific Power, rates have gone up 35.2% and Portland General electric rates have risen 43.8%. Those utilities, along with Idaho Power, have all asked for additional residential rate increases this year. The Oregon Public Utility Commission is considering requests to raise rates 18% by Northwest Natural, 7.2% by PGE, 21.6% by Pacific Power and 27% by Idaho Power.
