I don’t know if you can read these rules against tyranny, but the first is that t doesn’t suddenly become an autocratic state. It happens one broken rule, one bad thing unchallenged at a time. That’s why you can’t wait to prepare, but have to be ready for every small assault on normality.

I’m very afraid there’s going to be a lot of them. Many are going to be everyday people who are scared for their Medicare (now that department is likely to be weaponised). What can anyone do to support such people if they’re threatened?
