Rhachistia histrio inspired by a post by @snailseyeview.bsky.social (I believe the repost directly before this one on my page, but I don't know, I repost in a mad fury and forget everything I have ever done)
A watercolor of Rhachistia histrio shell, sometimes called the spotted porcelain snail. The shell is cone shaped, and is a gradient going from bright yellow, to light brown, to black at the very tip. It is swirled with black and brown stripes, and brown patches.

A humble blue glass snail that I painted while getting spam calls for a man named Francisco about his auto insurance...I am not Francisco...I do not own a car...I do not think he is real perhaps...but that's okay because snails are real and true and good

Can you tell I did the shell while distracted, got lazy, and threw in the towel...not what the precious candy cane snail deserves...but that's okay...I'll try again tomorrow...all that matters is I do something every day

My new project is that every day I am going to paint snails. Here are my first two snails. I had a lot of fun painting them

Saw three snails in Gloucester. Don't mind the thumb jumpscare

My aunt-in-law made this sculpture of a snail when she was little. It has been gifted to me. I am, of course...beyond delighted 🐌 I like that she made it look a bit like a rabbit!!

Saw an upside-down shell with the word HOPE written on it. I will admit, it made me smile.
Many thin trees and branches in front of a gray sky. In the middle is a white seashell tied to a branch with a hair tie. The shell says "hope" in blue letters, with a heart underneath. It is upside down.

Tried looking for books about snails at a local used bookstore. Saw the word "SNAIL" and eagerly picked it up. It was not what I expected. But I still like this cartoon French snail

Still didn't find any snails. DID find a turtle, and a couple of ducks. The ducks followed me about for a minute, then went back into the water to hunt around. I met some nice people, too!! So it was a successful walk!!

Here's a bad picture of a near cubical piece of salt I found just now. My phone quality is bad so you can't see the fun intricate details, but oh, they're there. (Odd for a snail fan to be so interested in a piece of salt...)
