i'm still not very comfortable in it yet, but i needed something on my pc again that has more features than sai (ibis has spoiled me but its pc port suuuucks), so i've been trying it this year. just testing. yes

i got a new phone. it had a stylus. needing an art program, i decided to give ibis paint another go, and this time... it actually stuck.
2025, i still use it. one thousand opened canvases later. six years. aaaaa

that's when my main program rly started to shift.
see, i was an early adopter of ibis paint, testing it out in 2017, but it didn't really stick back then, as my phone didn't have a stylus and i was fingerpainting. that's when i did these.

i feel like i used it for a while, probably because i used it A Lot. it does appear that my main usage period was from about 2015-2017, before ibis paint showed up and gradually started taking over.
still, i may use this sometimes!

this probably qualifies as my first time drawing digital art with an actual pen, BUT it was on my 3DS so hahahaa
my usage period was around 2012-2015. it had its limitations (5 layers only), but tbh this pretty much taught me to paint digitally. at some point i used it almost daily.

look okay i was still a mouse user at this time. and muro, this web-based drawing program... it had this tool called web-ink. it was an inky brush and it made my lines look nice and stable at the speed i was drawing.
so of course i used it a lot.

aka GNU image manipulation program. i used it the most around 2009-2010, it seems.
tbh with the first one i remember being completely blown away by all the things i could suddenly do. it had layers, soft brushes and filters. whoaaaa

so without further ado...
MS PAINT.
tbh i've used this one for a while! even after moving on to other programs, i'd still go back to ms paint for pixel stuff.
drawings here are from 2007-2009 specifically.

i got very nostalgic somewhat recently, and decided to draw a lineup of our first twelve homestuck trolls again.
my teenage self would be so proud of me
#homestuck #art

it fills the void left behind by the original game pretty well, even though i somehow managed to miss out on many cool items due to joining it frustratingly late. especially the pin collectibles... yet i still play it, so yeah i enjoy it regardless

naturally, i have also drawn and painted the map of club penguin at some point, just for myself, so i could have it hanging in my very own living room.
happy 20th anniversary <3
