In a time where fascism and right wing beliefs are taking over, they need to direct their energies towards things that actually matter

Ikr, must be exhausting. If they want to spend all their free time hating on someone, Chris Wood is not the person to be directing their anger towards. It's a shame because I've seen them actually do some good with their passion, they've raised money for LGBTQ+ charities in the past.

They think being unemployed in the acting industry is a crime and he has to rely on her for work. Apparently enjoying working with your spouse on a project together is the worst thing in the world.🙄

So because she's doing a show with him again, they're also disappointed in her. They say that she's the one who's keeping him employed with her production company that's involved in the new show, ignoring the fact that Chris wrote the script himself.

They make him out to be this plague on her life that's holding her back from being with Katie. They pretend he's abusive and toxic, which is even more awful considering Melissa was abused by her ex-husband and she's said multiple times now how supportive Chris was when they got together.

Chris and his Supergirl character are obstacles for their in-show and real life ship so they harass him any chance they get. Some of them have even gone so far as to threaten the life of their son. It's completely undeserved and disgusting.

They also shipped Melissa and Katie's characters together, which never happened and was never going to happen. These fans were extremely toxic and bullied the cast and crew to try and make it canon.

You're right, it's not. The people that are mad about this are from the Supergirl fandom. Both Melissa and her husband Chris Wood were on the show, it's where they met, but these people wanted her to get together with one of her other co-stars Katie McGrath.
