Short and sweet after the last couple. Pretty straightforward and some bosses a bit easy with a fire flower, but I like the added thing of collecting the gold coins. Mini Mario and Giant Mario are fun little power ups too.

And done! Haven't got all 120 stars, never planned to. 70 is the minimum needed to unlock the last Bowser fight, so I got 70, trying to get at least one star from each of the 15 worlds.

Getting a bit long that thread so carrying on with a new one! Started Super Mario 64 (1996) a few days ago and already flying through it! One of my all time favourite games so very familiar with this one

Its over! Its finally finally over! What a slog that was. Sorry, completely fail to understand why this is regarded as some kind of underrated gem. Dreadful. Hated the mechanics, controls, puzzles, baby Mario crying every 5 seconds. Awful. Back on track now.

This is still going on. I've just hit a wall at Yoshi's Island (1995). I just can't get a good rhythm to it. Its very different to every other Mario game so far with its style and gameplay, it's a real struggle keeping going.

The pinnacle. Find and complete Star Road, then the Special Zone...and your reward is everything being different colours, and Koopas wearing Mario masks instead of shells!

Much needed moment of joy today as Skem came from behind to pick up a first win of the season with a scrambled last kick of the game winner. Football has been horrendous to me this season, I didn't know how much I needed that.
