It has seemed this past year less agents have been looking for mg because it wasn’t selling. It would certainly be nice for those of us who write mg if that is changing.

I know that for picture books you are encouraged not to find your own illustrator. Is this different for graphic novels? Are you better off creating a team or does it depend on the agent?

I hope to. I’m one of the conference organizers so I’m not 100% sure how much time I’ll have to do stuff for myself.

My favorite winter solstice book is The Time Fetch. It combines fairy tale elements with a group of unlikely 8th graders who must work together, despite their differences, to stop the universe from unraveling.
