Speechless. The whole administration reeks of a kind of frantic viciousness that cannot abide any kind of tenderness or helpfulness towards others, that has to compulsively attack it.

The current regime in the US admires Viktor Orban, dictator of Hungary, who has undermined and destroyed all independent news outlets in his country, so that all its people have in their own country are propaganda channels.

To this non-expert, it appears ExpressVPN is a good foreign-based option (Czechoslovakia), and NordVPN is a famous (but now very expensive) offshore provider. US-based ones are subject to seizure / filtering should the US Internet be subverted.

I know that many PRC users (China) evade the firewall their dictator has imposed on their Internet space using VPNs. Such services also help you evade any Internet blockades on "forbidden" sites such as factual / balanced foreign news outlets if you fall under totalitarian rule, should it develop.

This is not to imply you need a VPN to browse foreign sites; read on. I do not know if unenslaved domestic channels such as BlueSky allow foreign connections from VPN'd users, but I suspect they do.
