And if the current value of Aluminium exports to the USA is $400m (USD or AUD?) as reported by the ABC is correct that would suggest a drop in our exports, and not a breaking of our solemn word.

Would rates being relatively low, compared to pre-gfc times, have any bearing on their decisions? Or are circumstances now so vastly different that they wouldn't take that into account?

Interest rates aren't terribly high, historically. The rate of change was shocking, and compared to the last 10 years they're obviously well up.

As a mortgage holder, I'd like them to come down a bit though, too.
