Much like 100 years ago we are at a moment where liberalism is in crisis, and predictably people are polarizing now the same way we were back then. The only difference is that this time the left wing option of response to this crisis has been propagandized against for 100+ years in the West

Neoliberalism has gutted the global working class and the only options for these people are given are tepid neoliberalism or blowing it all up with fascists. They're choosing fascists because they're the only ones actually promising to change anything, even if that change is objectively bad
