you'd think they'd figure out that the fact that they get it so much is proof that they're not immune

i usually go to the cinema alone so i'm not asking because i do it, i'm asking because i find it annoying but i don't know if that's just a me problem or if it's actually rude

or just don't make any more james bond movies. that's also a possibility. things can end.
November 11, 2025 at 12:16 PM
it's already a popular fan theory than james bond is a code name that multiple people have used, just make that canon. or just don't address that james bond died in the last film and trust that audience will understand. it's not that hard

it's not hard for students to get around this, and this would have done nothing to prevent brianna ghey's murder. this is an unjustifiable expense and the money would be much better spent on aiding the trans community, or on basically anything else.

she hasn't learned anything if that's the case, she's repeating the same mistake.

"trans" appears in the article 7 times. "phone"? 21. she barely talks about the actual cause of the murder—transphobia. no, it's all about her daughter's phone use.

we will never get brianna's perspective. but i cannot imagine she would be okay with her mother deadnaming her to the world, airing out everything she doesn't like about her, acting like by using her phone too much she was somehow responsible, and ignoring the actual cause of her murder.

i cannot imagine anyone being okay with knowing that their parent would write an article like esther ghey's if they got murdered. she wants so so desperately to blame her daughter's bad habits on her murder, she makes it seem that it was a suicide, and not a murder.
November 11, 2025 at 9:35 AM
i am not brianna ghey and did not know her, but i can't imagine anyone being okay with the idea of their parent making their murder about whatever unrelated habit the parent didn't like.

It just dawned on me. This means trans kids will have no support in schools. The Labour government brought in Section 28 2.0 so school staff can't be there to support trans kids. Now they are cutting off contact with the outside world. So for the duration of school trans kids are alone. Truly sick.

even if it were about her mental health, I believe her mental health would have been worse without phones. at least with phones she was able to find a community.

does any of them wonder why a trans girl, who was isolated, harassed, and assaulted by her schoolmates, spent so much time on her phone? no, of course they don't. thinking about that gets in the way of blaming young people and their phone use for everything bad that happens to them.
November 11, 2025 at 8:55 AM
preventing brianna ghey from using phones would have done nothing to prevent her murder. the £150,000 wasted on this could have been spent on resources for the trans community, or anti-bullying initiatives, or fucking anything else. but no. let's make it about those darn phones.
November 11, 2025 at 8:55 AM
older generations love coming up with obviously bullshit reasons phone use is connected to all of younger people's problems. because god forbid they actually listen to young people's problems rather than just make everything about their irrational and all-consuming fear and disgust of phones.
