Wip Wednesday from the draft I've been picking at.... Working title "ferdibert bath scene (not sexy)"
The room had grown warm and humid from the steam wafting off the bathwater. Ferdinand stuck his hand in to make sure it had cooled some and found it satisfactory. Turning, he found Hubert picking at the buttons of his pants, grumbling when his trembling fingers slipped. Ferdinand moved to help him, but like he always had in the past, Hubert batted his hands away. "Let me do this, at least," Hubert said. Ferdinand relented, though he kept close, putting a hand on Hubert's shoulder at his unsteadiness. He watched Hubert struggle for a few long seconds, pressing his lips together to stay silent, before Hubert viciously cursed under his breath. "Hubert?" "Fine," Hubert spat. "Help me with this." Ferdinand gently took Hubert's shaking hands in his and kissed Hubert's cheek. "I know you are exhausted, my love. It is my pleasure to care for you." Hubert scowled before he let out a long sigh, holding Ferdinand's hands in return. "I appreciate it, though I do not like it." Ferdinand laughed before kissing him again and setting to his task.

I actually have a wip like this... I should finish it but I haven't had the motivation 😔 here are some snippets though
In the spare moments, though, he'd found this building used to be owned by a servant of a past emperor.  The name of the owner had been scratched off the plaque, which struck Ferdinand as odd, though on one sign he managed to make out the first letter of the family's name as V.  There were a lot of emperors with even more servants, so Ferdinand hadn't the slightest idea who it could be off the top of his head.  He made a note to look it up when he returned home, [but the curiosity of it ate away at him.]  One plaque described how the house was steeped in mystery, with renovators finding a number of secret passages and hidden rooms.  It all intrigued Ferdinand further, and reminded him that for many years the Minister of the Imperial Household was also rumored to be a spy master, dealing with the emperor's enemies in the shadows.  Perhaps this was once his home?  Such a thought was captivating on the off chance it was true. If only Ferdinand could reach back through time and just speak to the owner himself.  Talking to someone of such an [interesting] background would certainly be more engaging than his work pamphlet, but no matter how long he stared across the table to the seat at the other side, no one appeared.  Certainly not someone that's been dead for goddess knows how long. Ferdinand shook his head and instead looked at himself in the mirror.  He looked tired, really, the bright expression people always complimented him on nowhere to be found.  With another long sigh he decided he might as well get ready for bed.  He wasn't looking forward to the conference meeting tomorrow, but he could get through it.  [He didn't really like this work, his father's work not a job he would have chosen for himself, but it paid him well.]  He just needed to save enough money where he could finally leave his family behind and do what he liked, preferably when he liked it. Reaching down, he pulled off the sweater he was wearing, getting lost in the mess of his hair before he shook it back into place.  He'd begun undoing the buttons of his shirt when he froze.   There was something behind him in the mirror.

Crumbs for WIP Wednesday because the passage of time slips through my fingers like water (I zoned out and it's been a month or something idk)
Ferdinand very nearly ripped Hubert's coat off, scowling at the unusual weight of it. It reeked of blood, and after only a second the offending substance began to drip from the fabric onto the floor. He looked up at Hubert, who met his eye with clear exhaustion. "Are you *sure you are not hurt?" Ferdinand asked, trying and failing to not sound pleading. Hubert merely sighed, rubbing at his eyes with a gloved hand. "I don't feel anything," he mumbled. Ferdinand's frown deepened. "Then you will let me check." Hubert looked like he was about to argue it, but after a long pause, grimaced and began to remove his gloves. "If you must."
