Granada Reports in 2005, when the Glazer takeover of United was finalised. The brothers visited Old Trafford and had to be taken away to safety in a police van which was pelted with missiles. The last part of the report - supporters were right to be worried. Shameful it was ever allowed to happen.

Today would have been Bobby Charlton’s 88th birthday. I always remember my dad telling me how strangely bittersweet it felt watching him score goals in the years after Munich.

There are bigger longstanding issues as to why United can’t beat Brentford away and they shouldn’t be relying on refereeing calls, but it doesn’t change the fact this should’ve been a red card and would’ve changed the outcome of the game had it been given. Appalling.

Yes, truly the stuff of Hollywood. All you’d need to do in the script is slightly gloss over the subplot where the heroic underdogs are bankrolled by Putin’s oligarch mate. Other than that, yep, flawless fairytale.

One of my unexpected summer highlights has been the local vigilante graffiti artist who finds abandoned piles of dog poo and adds profanities - usually this one - next to them on the pavement. Not sure what purpose it serves if the crime’s already been committed, but well done
