Here is a very nice 1914 thank letter for donation to the sailors' and soldier' christmas fund. They donated George IV £2 (1823) coin and a Gothic crown (1847) coin.

First World War Christmas, number 24. ‘Sealed’ - Princess Mary’s Christmas gift was supplied in individual boxes packed in crates, or later in large cardboard boxes. Wrapped with coarse twine, they were secured with lead seals crimped with the Princess’s cypher. This is a rare survivor.
