This. Uniform Probate Code states can be pretty darn easy, but it gets trickier elsewhere and every State has its quirks.

SBW: "So is it like . . ."

Guy: "Yeah, so first I talked to the recruiter; and then the hiring manager, that's M; and then a Zoom group thing with several of the other Double-Ohs. It was informal, but it's still an interview, you know?"

I'm not saying that Trump knows anything about anything, but it is hysterical that the one thing he kinda knows the most about is commercial real estate and he brings that to his social media presence.

Congrats! I hear the new Associate Dean of Faculty Research & Programs is tough, tho.

And you say it's not to shape the electorate but the assumption that disqualifications for parents can effectively disenfranchise children does just that for millions.

But you seem to assume that any argument in favor of a disqualified parent acting for a citizen child is de facto an argument for expanding the franchise to the disqualified parent. And I guess I don't see the equivalence.

A noncitizen parent can apply for a passport for a citizen child, e.g.

I cannot tell you the relief I feel when people that seem like good people are, in fact, good people.

And unfortunately, this undermines the whole conclusion's umbrage at being opposed to the idea of parent proxy voting because of what policies will be implemented. Because ineligible parents are going to be more-represented in some demographics than others.
November 10, 2025 at 5:25 PM
If that is so, it should be irrelevant whether the proxy is eligibile to vote herself, only whether the proxy will be assumed to adequately represent the child, which the rest of the article argues that parent proxy voters will.
November 10, 2025 at 5:25 PM
The thesis of the article is that when parents cast children's votes, they are not voting themselves, but rather acting as proxies for their children, who would vote for themselves if they were legally competent to do so.

I confess I find the response to ineligible parents unconvincing. Would, in your view, a noncitizen parent be unable to act as a citizen child's legal representative in a child's lawsuit asserting rights belonging to citizens?

They are in the process of ordering it! As someone with no experience in government contracting, I assume that we have an Amazon Prime membership that means the new equipment will arrive in two days at no extra cost.

This is not a surprise to anyone who was closely following this case. It *ought* to be, however, a moment to reflect upon the responsibility (or not) of media outlets that, deliberately or not, led folks to believe that a grant was a serious possibility (which it never was).

Ed lives, Megan! Didn't you see the pardon news today?!

People who say "we suffered for 40 days for what?" might or might not be right on the merits but need to read up on the sunk cost fallacy.
