Yes. Her District (mine) is now more securely Republican than ever. Her only real competition will come from Rep. Ken Calvert, a Republican whose neighboring District has been redrawn to be securely Democratic.

NO to open primaries. All they do is make it easier to game the system. Like it or not, we have just two viable parties in this country and there's enough daylight between them that they actually do offer a pretty clear choice. Choose one & work with like-minded others to make it the best it can be.

I question the implication that "the oldest Americans" aren't worried about their economic future. Maybe those who are well-off and have the assurance of food, shelter and adequate medical care have no worries, but many who are less fortunate are living in fear of cuts to programs they rely on.

He's got them covered with his hometown boy/military veteran routine, just as he's got the influential elite of the religious right covered via his politically convenient conversion.
