So I spoke with Microsoft account team and they said, hyper-threading isn’t relevant for per-vm SQL licensing. All I have to do is ensure we have licenses purchased for each vcore allocated to the VMs l, with a 4-core minimum. This is so frustrating

Thank you — Does core pinning work as well? I.e. assign 4 specific cores to the VM?

If HT is disabled on the host or we do cpu affinity on the host to pin to specific cores, does that negate having to buy the extra cores? Appreciate any insight you can provide.

I think there’s some confusing messaging. Microsoft has other CDN offerings thst use the azureedge.net domain — those are known as “Microsoft CDN” and are not impacted by the bankruptcy. The impacted CDN profiles resolve to IP address that’s not owned by Microsoft.
