Investment companies bought derelict foreclosed houses, renovated them and rented them for market rents. There was (and still is) a shortage of rental housing. People have been unjustly badmouthing the real estate industry on this for years.

Thank you for sharing. My dad was a B-17 pilot with the 384th Bomb Group. He flew 36 missions from 1944-45. He survived the war, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this, but he did retain strong memories of his service and his comrades for the rest of his life.
