I will say after this weekend, being around like minded people really gave a huge moral boost, so if you are on the fence or just reading this in the dark GO to the next one. It great fun and nice to feel like your community cares.

Don’t let it become a pressure and always take care of yourself first, but I also really enjoy the informative posts. 😄

I’ve heard that photos of people are more interesting because our minds fill in a story, but I just want to know why she has a Canon strap on a Sony body 😆

Makes sense! Cool to learn what pear blossoms look like 😆

This gives me some motivation to just call what the camera recorded good enough. Really nice photos of the cherry blossoms by the way!

I really like the unaltered photo callout. I’ve been finding it hard to balance wanting to find the optimal form of a given image with not wanting to sit and edit photos for hours.

4. make a syrup by adding 2x more sugar than whatever volume of water you have. Add more 2x ratio syrup if you don't have enough to cover the peels again.

5. boil down again
6. pull the peels out, dry on racks.
7. cover in powered sugar or chocolate once fully dried.

Works for oranges too. 👍

I would put in a vote for candied (and optionally chocolate covered) lemon peels. The process is pretty much:

1. peel a bunch of lemons, like 2 cups worth of peels.
2. add them to a pot and cover with water, then boil until the water is almost gone.
3. strain and put aside the remaining liquid

Super useful in a ton of cocktails as well.

You then cut the final product with water to adjust proof, and then add sugar to taste, then serve over ice or with soda.

Generally speaking higher proof alcohol will let you dissolve the oils faster and can yield better flavor. If you are somewhere you can get ~120 proof vodka that works best.

One of the great things about making limoncello is that you can combine this with most of the other ideas, since you are only using the peels.

What a fantastic flower! As an aside, are you constantly surprised by just how sharp that lens is? I feel like I’m always caught off guard since it is so light.

Nicely done with the processing for that as well! My 7100 always had very distinct purple banding that would creep in when pushing the iso.

That’s a really fun way to get the red tones of looking into the sunset as well as all of the dark blue and purple looking away. Nicely done!

Until then I’ve been playing with _really_ long exposures with a 720nm filter on an unconverted Z8, which isn’t the best but is interesting to play with.

When I get around to converting the camera I might ask you for some processing tips. I looked through more of your posts and you have some really amazing full spectra/IR images!
