Overall, I think this is faster to prototype by just cutting a dowel and cutting the space you need with a saw, than using a hypothetical. Low tech, but is a more clear "resolution" to the question you have, lol

At a base of about a penny's size, I think you are somewhat "asking for trouble", but it entirely depends on the weight and angle of wood imo, rather than the question of "feasibility", for the purposes of "is it possible".

So with a stacked grouping of 5 cards (or even just 1), the card size is such that the weight allowance is somewhat "negligible", that is to say, I imagine as long as the angle of the card is not overly tilted outside of the base, nor the weight of the wood is overly light, you should be fine?

OK, so, take this with a grain of salt and me typing this with some drink in me. It's all "physics" in the sense that the center of gravity as long as it doesn't overcome the base weight of the combined system (cards + base) doesn't move far pass the base. In EH, the card height is 57mm x 89mm

I think you don't display neither the "lip of the holder" (the black portion), nor the "height of the stand" (the blonde part) and therefore it's hard to really say. But from my gut memory of playing Eldritch Horror, that should be OK?
