Receiving these golden gifts, from a couple whom I imagine Chris and I could have grown to become, at the start of what is expected to be the most emotional month of the past decade will help keep me grounded as I continue to be awed by the simple beauty that remains in our world.

This month marks 10 yrs since my husband's passing. So, after a long overnight shift, caring for an elderly woman recently afflicted with an infection that left her bed-bound, when she and her gentle, loving husband asked me to snip a bouquet of daffodils for me to take home, my heart almost burst.

They didn't know how much that poem meant to me, how it was just the sort of feeling, imagination, and contemplation conjured up by the author that was the basis for my superpower of positivity in adversity.

Meanwhile, you have so much to say, and you speak so well. It is the less witty people like me who should take up this serviceable substitute.
