That is the perfect present. My dad found an old doll's bunk bed set in a charity shop and spent ages restoring it one year. I passed it to my daughter and she still loves it.

I didn't own many books but I remember treasuring my Madeleine series. I was fascinated by the symmetry/asymmetry and colours. Reading them repeatedly is a strong memory.
