It seems related to the other African Americanism I always thought was very unusual - "open a can of whoop ass". I wonder if Hungarian immigrants took it over and it evolved from there.

Presumably won't be in the job much longer?

Will it finish in time for Farage to go to trial, or will he just get in and close it down like Trump did with all the legal actions against him?

I never realised BoC referred to a balloon full of cum.

Assuming of course that the court actually has any jurisdiction outside of Florida in the first place, which is my main query.

However, this is obviously a vexatious claim in front of a friendly judge and even then most legal experts seem to think it's bound to fail, so prob not an issue anyway.

Maybe in the old days but the US is quickly moving towards looking like an authoritarian state without the rule of law, so I'd give as much credence to the pronouncement of a Trump appointed judge in America as I would a Putin or Orban- appointed one in Russia or a Hungary.

I don't know either 😁

I'd really love a legal expert to actually spell out what possible consequences would be and how the court could enforce any punishment. As it stands, discourse feels pretty binary - it's not going to happen vs 10 billion dollars will bankrupt them, but there are no details.

But if the court can't actually do anything to you, why would you even bother with the expense and hassle of fighting the case? If someone told me a court in Afghanistan was going to hear a case that meant I couldn't go to Helmand province in the future without being arrested I'd leave them to it.

Can a court in Florida do all that though? My understand is that this case is being heard at state level, so their jurisdiction doesn't extend outside of the state.

Even if he won (I know he shouldn't but this is Trump's America now), what would it actually mean? What can a court in Florida do apart from possibly order the arrest of the BBC if it ever goes on holiday to Miami?

I'm already mourning it and hating myself for doing so
