Having beaten Battlefield 6's campaign I can safely say, yep, that's pretty damned mid.
It feels like BF6 has Repliforce Syndrome, where there's a decent story to tell but we only see the final act. The end result is a mess where things and ideas are tossed at us with the expectation that we care.

I'm just happy you put the "Tails going yee-haw mode" panel in there. Because that's the best part of that comic. Not saying the comic is bad, I just liked that moment the most.

I got reminded today that, in at least three Fire Emblem games, you can have the women in your army serve as broodmares for a super-soldier eugenics program.
This is insanely fucked up to think but it got lodged into my mind and I had to launch it into the aether to get it out. A case of:

There's very few things I've gone, "Yeah, that'd look cool on my body." I have to generally be a life long uber fan of what it represents to consider doing it.
It comes down to the Flamel Emblem from Fullmetal Alchemist and the Mark of Shame from Halo.

It's a shame too because they actually did do something similar in 2013 with Assassins Creed: Freedom Cry.
An expansion for Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag that starred a freed African slave in the 1700s who joined the Assassins. The plot of the game follows him allying with the Maroons of Haiti.
