Furthermore, decreases in cognitive performance were robustly associated with decreases in white matter integrity in widespread fiber tracts over time across diagnostic groups

In our 2-year longitudinal follow-up study with >800 participants from the FOR2107 cohort, we showed that participants with major depression have greater decline in white matter integrity compared to healthy participants over time
