My big takeaway from it was his belief that we need to stop stigmatizing age, look at older people as those who have "accumulated more life and experience." The pictures, by Anna Petek, made me think of that Johnny Cash video for "Hurt," though.

A general theme among pieces dealing with the elderly in Japan is the encouragement of strength and muscle training. Dr. Nakamats says he's doing this so he can run for Tokyo governor again in 2028 — when he is 100.
