It’s almost as though Howe has reined it in from an intensity POV to avoid injury and fatigue, but it’s not working. With Gordon and Tonali dropping off, no cover at full backs and new signings struggling - it’s not a good mix.

Agree. However I don’t mind playing Gordon playing there today as Nick needs protecting. As soon as Wissa is fit, then never again!!!

Every fan in this situation is going to take some joy when he left like he did. We are very much more interested in our team (won 7 from 11 in all comps BTW)) than Isak, but seeing it and smiling about it was always going to happen. Same with Wissa and Brentford fans

Newcastle fan here. Isak needs to be focused AND 100% fit. When you have both he is almost unplayable. Either drops you have a problem. He started and ended last season poorly, as he was not focused. The middle was amazing. Sure he will get there but the longer he does not, the harder it gets.

So true on full backs. We urgently need cover there, but keep these 2 fit and we are a different side. Beat Everton and it turns. Lose and same questions get asked.

We are smaller than Liverpool, but this is not relevant to Isak not being fit. It’s all Isak, his agent (and Liverpool) doing. NUFC fans know he has to be 1) 100% fit and 2) focus of the team to be effective. At the moment he is neither. He is either brilliant and scoring or poor. Rarely just good.

It’s just an opinion (some might say fun) based article during a quiet week. That said, and taking Woltemade out of it as a Newcastle fan, but Ekitike has had a bigger impact than Gyokeres from what I have seen…..but would not worry about it, just an opinion 👍

He knows a verbal agreement with someone no longer there is worth nothing and therefore thinks he has to try and make it appear like trust has been eroded to play the emotional card. He wants his own way and is setting the place alight to get it as he has no other levers (or is being advised that)

Totally nailed it. He knows he has nothing if he agreed something verbally with someone no longer there and is using the ‘trust eroded ’ card (pulling on emotions) to get his way. Also agree the leadership at the clubs outside of Howe (has enough on his plate) is non existent. Total mess.
